New paper: Transport as a Sensitive Indicator of Quantum Criticality

Malte Vogl | May 22, 2014 min read

This paper studies bosonic transport through one-dimensional spin systems, induced by coupling them to bosonic reservoirs held at different temperatures. Using the quantum-optical master equation in the weak-coupling limit, it calculates the energy transmitted from source to drain and shows that, at large thermal bias, the resulting current is a sensitive indicator of the underlying quantum-critical behavior of the spin system.
